Travel via the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs, explore the green fields and the unlimited palm trees of Skoura Oasis and tour the beautifully restored Kasbah Amredhil and discover its small museum. Stroll along the Valley of the Roses, and visit the cosmetic women’s co-operatives in Kel’aa M’gouna to learn the abundant flowers are processed into valuable organic cosmetic products.
Taste lunch in a restaurant overlooking the fertile Dades Valley, go for a walk by the riverbank, and through the massive canyons. If time allows and if desired, go for a short hike around the gorge with a local guide to explore the garden fields and the fertile valleys. We drive through the Boumalne Dades valley and arrive back at Ouarzazate by the end of the afternoon.
This Dades Gorges day trip starts by morning departure from your hotel or riad in Ouarzazate in a 4×4 air-conditioned vehicle to the amazing Dades Gorges.
A 45 min off-road drive through the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs leads to the green and lively Oasis of Skoura, where you can take a refreshing walk in the green fields and among the palm trees, followed by a visit to the authentically repaired Kasbah Amridil and the small museum of the Kasbah.
From here, we drive via the Valley of the Roses, which you could explore, to Kel’aa M’gouna where you can see the organic cosmetic products, locally made from the abundant harvested flowers from the Valley of the Roses. Here, it is possible to share a glass of tea with a local family and interact with the Berber people to learn about life in the oasis.
Later on, we continue to the Dades Gorges which will be the venue for lunch, followed by a wonderful walk alongside the river and through the massive canyons. If time allows and if desired, you can go for a short hike around the gorge with a local guide to explore the garden fields and the fertile valleys.
In the afternoon, we drive through the Boumalne Dades and arrive at Ouarzazate by the end of the day, which will mark the end of your Dades Gorges day trip.
