Begin your Sahara desert tours from Ouarzazate by morning departure from your hotel. The first scheduled stop of your trip will be Skoura Oasis. Here, wander the huge palm groves and learn about local agriculture. Shortly after, visit the beautiful Kasbah Amredhil and tour its small museum.
Next, you continue along the Valley of the Roses as far as Kel’aa M’gouna. Here, you will visit the local co-operatives making cosmetic products. Afterwards, you drive off-track along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Dades Gorges. Enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants overlooking the valley.
In the afternoon, take a walk alongside the riverbank and explore the garden fields. Then, you continue to the Toudgha Gorges, where a guest house offers dinner and night rest.
After breakfast, you can explore the gorges or go for a hike with a local guide. Then, travel along the beautiful Ziz Valley, and via the Oasis of Tafilalet and arrive in Erfoud.
After lunch, pay a visit to the fossil artefact workshops. There is no obligation to buy, but the exhibits are worth exploring. In the afternoon, your desert adventure continues east beyond Rissani, the last town before the Sahara Desert.
At the camp, enjoy a relaxing glass of tea and Moroccan biscuits and check in to your tent. Then, an hour camel ride leads to the summit of the dunes of Erg Chebbi to catch the sunset.
At night, dinner will be served and followed by a Berber musical play. Sleep in a private nomad tent in a desert camp among the dunes.
Get up early in the morning and you will be rewarded with an amazing spectacle of the sunrise. After breakfast, there will the opportunity for a second camel ride and time to walk around the dunes.
Shortly after, you drive to Ouarzazate, passing by many Berber villages. Including Rissani, Alnif, Tazzarine, featured in the movie ‘Babel’, and N’Qob which will be the venue for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will drive off-track through Dra’a Valley’s huge palm groves and green oases. Visit Kasbah Tamnougalt with a local guide. This is the oldest kasbah in the valley and is still partly inhabited. The itinerary continues along the ancient road of the Caravans full of adobe-built housing and ancient kasbahs.
Back on the paved road, drive to Agdz where we stop for a tea or a coffee break. You cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tinfifite pass to arrive back at Ouarzazate. End of your Ouarzazate to Erg Chebbi Sahara trip!
