4-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes – itinerary:

1st day: Marrakech – Ouarzazate:

Start your Marrakech to Fes desert tour by morning departure from your hotel in an air-conditioned 4×4 car.  Travel over the high Atlas Mountains and drive via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest peak in Africa (2260m).

Along the road, stop at panoramic viewpoints to capture views of the mountains, the green valleys. Stop in one of the beautiful Berber villages perched on the mountain’s entourage for a tea break.

After descending the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, a side road leads to the once glorious Kasbah Telouet. Tour the kasbah with a local guide to learn about its history as a former palatial residence for the Glaoui family.

Afterwards, you continue your Marrakech to Fes desert tour via the varying landscapes of the Ounila Valley as far as the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Here, you can savour lunch in one of the many restaurants on the riverbank of the Salt River and the fortified Kasbah.

3rd day: Dades Gorges – Merzouga:

Then, you drive along the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees, and fortified Kasbahs, and arrive in Erfoud in time for lunch. Afterwards, you can visit the fossil exhibits, where you can see how the fossils are processed into souvenirs.

In the afternoon, you will continue your desert trip to the dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga.  Here, an hour to an hour and a half leads to the summit of the high dunes, from which the sunset is spectacular.
